foals – olympic airways
If singles like ‘Cassius’ and ‘Balloons’ weren’t on your iPod last year, on constant repeat…well…you lost. Foals came with something exciting in 2008, and they are re-releasing ‘Olympic Airways’ so go get it on iTunes. And if you haven’t got the album already, go get it, see them at the festivals this summer, and watch their latest video ‘Olympic Airways’. Probably in my top 10 videos of the past few years. Fucking love it.
SINK or SWIM?
liberty drunk
To follow up on a previous post about Nike’s Liberty Blazer, images of the Liberty Dunk hit my inbox and had me wondering. Had the shoe been awash with pink and sickly baby colour tones, I probably wouldn’t have given it a second glance and screamed sink. But there is something about the strong blue highlights and miss match of the liberty fabrics that i’m really feeling. Put it this way, with valentines day around the corner, and me being open to all manner of gifts, I wouldn’t say no to these.
The Liberty Blazer and Liberty Dunk will be available from Liberty on 14th Feb, and a week later at Nike’s 1948 store and Dover St Market in London.
Having gauged a bit of disdain out there for floral prints on girls kicks – i’m going to request a rethink. I’ve been known to wear some garish shoes in my time, the majority from the mens line in my size 5. Which is all good and well, but what is so wrong with the ladies getting something a little more feminine on the shapes that we still adore.

SINK or SWIM?
ITS COLD OUT HERE
My boy Phillip over at AwardTour has re-stocked the ever popular ‘Long John Stocking Cap’ at his online store, he put them in the store like 30 minutes ago, and last time they sold out QUICK, my prediction is you have a few hours to get in and cop one before they are gone again. It’s snowing next week, so for superficial and practical reasons, i think this is a smart buy.

Available in two colourways, Pink and Black or Grey and Navy.

Direct link to the online store here.
And of course…
THOUGHTS?
I Hate January
Fats mentioned as the start of the year here, but it has just dragged on and on. I spend the entire month hitting refresh on various sport websites desperate for some glimmer of hope in what has been our worst season’s as an Arsenal fan in recent memory. Gone are the days of Chelsea buying big and instead we have Man City trying to buy big and failing. As the weekend plays out fans from all clubs will be desperate for the player who will make the difference to their squad.
My predictions:
Chelsea to spring a suprise signing probably a winger
Santa Cruz to Man City
Arshavin to Arsenal deal falls through in the last seconds.
Heskey to be the buy of the transfer window.
Who would you like your club to buy?
Who are they gonna buy?

What is in a portrait? What do our choices of clothes and our body language say about us, or the image we wish to portray? What is in our eyes and our smiles? To see more flicks from the same set…
LIGHTS OUT
It was meant to be a great night, one of the most influential British musicians in the last decade Mike Skinner aka The Streets, at Brixton Academy tonight. But NO, Brixton Academy were feeling the credit crunch hard and didn’t pay their electric bills, well, that might not be true, all I know is there was a major powercut and power could not be restored. Hence, GIG CANCELLED. What else is there to do but head to London’s flagship Nandos and my personal favourite the Stockwell Road branch to drown our sorrows.

You can see the disappointment on my silly face there. This leads me to the question…
WHEN WERE YOU LAST DISAPPOINTED, I MEAN REALLY GUTTED??
Lots of love,
gk
