Twittering Hell
I signed up to Twitter in June last year and never really got into it. It just seemed like a crappy Facebook status application and another thing to spend my life trying to update and forget about. I’d kinda forgotten about but then it seems to keep cropping up. Ginger Kid mentioned his the other day, Obama used it heavily during the election campaign (that maybe the only time those two individuals appear in one sentence!!), Phillip Schofield mentioned it on This Morning and then there was the drama that unfolded between Wale & Semtex which ended up in what can only be described as a Twitter War
So my question to Tribers,
Who is on this thing?
Is it worth the grind?
Or is it another flash in the pan (big up Hi5, Linkedin, Friendster etc etc)

I didnt join any of the other flash in the pan ones you mentioned. And didnt want to join Twitter, it was peer pressure, so I joined, didn’t take to it for months. Now in the last few week, I’m starting to think it is amazing.

Been on twitter since it was a beta (yes, I’m a web geek and early adopter of these things) and it’s only the introduction of the twitterberry application recently that has meant I use it daily. There’s a feeling it may jump the shark soon with the sudden media interest and every man, it’s dog, Johnathan Ross and Stephen Fry are on there but only time will tell. Bebo on the other hand is shite.

it is def a waste of time but like most internet socialising networks it becomes addictive. I’m just not sure what people will get out of me fraffing about nonsense and why I respond to them?

I can’t lie, I spent the first 2 weeks on Twitter asking everyone the same question: “what the fuck do I do with Twitter” – but straight up, it’s a pretty nifty little thing. Honestly, I can’t tell you why you’d “need” it in your life, but boi I can tell you – ERRRRRYONE is on there. It’s kinda fun I guess, but it is a bit long having ‘another thing to update’.

I’m as self obsessed as the next only-child but Twitter is just taking the piss with people using it to post every meaningless brainfart they have. Quite literally as around 50% of the posts on there seem to be “i just farted and it stinks lol” type updates.
