Yes its OFFICIAL! I am a Bummy Bitch, now dont get me wrong I’ve always had bummy tendencies how I got through 3 years of a degree is a miracle! However I am now considering makin a career of being a bum… since I am no longer working! Im thinkin what the benefits of being a bum are.. and to be honest I’m coming up with quite a few!

1. Not waking up so God Damn early

2. Watching Maury Povich (5 baby fathers, choose 1)

3. The endless stream of channel U videos I can now watch.. particulary those that talk about ”gettin dat paper’ and having the ‘most swagga’

Ok so I cant think of any other real benefits right now to being jobless, however I’m sure there are many… I mean there has to be right?

    Welcome to the club…
Being unemployed is great (for now, it might not be so great once my savings acct. dries up).

    You can:
    Pursue artistic pursuits.
Take a ridiculous amount of photos.
Visit an infinite array of blogs.
    Catch up on correspondence.
Read the paper in it’s entirety.
    Work out.
Have the time to prepare REAL meals.
Finally sew buttons back on and other ish of that nature.
    Go gallery hopping.
Window shop all you want (okay, this one can be kinda painful.)
    etc., etc.

But, yes, mainly when I’m not at school/practice/internship, I end up eating copious amounts of candy and engaging in youtube zombitude.

drag out some ol’ albums actually indulge in some vinyls or playing a c.d. Pull out some of them ol’ dvd’s you wait for the right moment to watch. Watch them now! Invite people round and get them to be a bum with you.Bette Milder is a great day time movie or a bit of Garland. A no brainer. Just stay away from Oprah and Dr. Phil you may actually start to see the reailty of unemployment and not enjoy life’s little pleasures!

I was made redundant years ago and spent three days watching sopranos. By the end i was truly depressed. Never watched the show since.

Nothing good comes from sitting round your house

I’m technically jobless but not unemployed!?!??!
    Use this opportunity to either…
    - Start your own business…
    - Rinse the state for all that it is worth, claim every type of benefit going!!
    - Get ultra fit and use wasted energy to train for a marathon or tri-athlon.
    - Continue to watch throwback Maury from 2003.

    The choice is yours.

@ illsun- I did the same thing (slightly more expanded time frame, but yeah) with The Shield and felt hella depressed after.

But I think a lot of good can come from downtime at home, especially if you’ve just spent a long period of time on the grind, on that go-go-go steez, time at home can be very grounding. And, for people like me who are 50% introvert (or more) it’s like an overdue necessity
