Support New Music

June 4, 2009 by sunil

So since leaving the BBC my supply of free music is pretty much all over so today I had a quick scout through what I need to own over the summer. Hip Hop is definitely quiet with the only thing catching my eye was the new Meth and Red but I wanna hear some more first and Dizzee but that doesn’t have a confirmed date yet.  So here is what I’ve settled with in terms of pre orders – anyone got any tips for anything new between now and September that I need to be on?

Rebirth I’m not sure about it – when Wayne is good he’s awesome and I’m not convinced that it’ll all be rock but should a couple of more bits drop that sound shit I’m gonna axe it.

Mos Def is an essential purchase, especially with Madlib and Slick Rick onboard.
Other than that, in August, the new Soulsavers album is released. The last one was so good that this one will be hyped to Billy-O.
Also Burial’s DJ-kicks is out in June, that should be interesting
