2010 Cometh
What’s the New Year’s Eve equivalent of a Christmas Scrooge? ‘Cause whatever it is, I am one. I hate the whole build-up to 31st December- attempting to plan it well in advance, then failing to do so, then arguing ’cause your crew can’t reach a consensus on where to go, and then invariably finding yourself at a cashpoint/in a cab/holding back your friend’s hair while she vomits all over her shoes when the clock strikes midnight. Rubbish.
This year, however, it’s all about actually following through on your intentions to sort it all before Christmas and either a) buying an airplane ticket so you can getthefuckouttahere or b) buying a (much cheaper) ticket for a club night where you know the music will be good, the crowd will be fly and the drinks will be affordable. This year’s What’s Good x Nike iD Studio promises to be all of the above, so do yourself a favour and bag your spot inside the venue, like, now.
super hyper real
Presenting the photography of Jing. He takes photographs with a touch of kitsch and throws in a healthy dose of humour to boot. I adore the style and the effort that goes into capturing the split second stories seen in his work. His entire collection is, quite, superb.
Me im a creator
Do you consider yourself a creative? Well this is a great idea that should and could be introduced in all culturally diverse major cities. Swedish clothing brand Elvine put together the brilliant ‘Creators Inn’— offering free short-term accommodation for visiting creators. An overnight at Creators Inn offered all the standard features and comfort associated with a modern hotel but the crucial difference was that you as a guest did not have to pay anything. Totally free. No hidden fees. The aim with Creators Inn was to promote the local area and give something back to traveling creators whose presence contributes to a more interesting city, whether they are in a band, DJ, designer, artist, writer etc.
So pissed this just came popped up onto my radar as this is a great way to open up cities around the world to young creative people who want to travel without having to face the options of slumming it or paying through the nose for accommodation. Closing its doors in September this is one of those gems that could start a chain reaction… Any international ATCN readers want to open up their home as the new creators Inn?
