Wow. Wednesday has come around again so quickly. For me, selecting songs for the mid-week PRESS PLAY is an alarm to get my arse into gear and get the most out of the week before it’s over. Up and coming UK rapper Ghost Poet makes a return to the playlist for the second time this month and Samuel & The Dragon keep the heat coming.

WOW
On Monday night myself and ATCN family Yemi made our way down to the Warner screening of the Spike Jonze directed Where the Wild Things Are. Previously featured on ATCN the feeling of excitement within the team has been bubbling for a while and I’m so relieved to say the movie does not disappoint. In my humble opinion, the live action Max (played by the kid in the playground with the coolest name, 12 year old Max records) helps bring to life a story i have loved since reading time at primary school.
Being given the book as a gift before the film had me considering giving it away at Christmas but to be honest with you… This is staying in my house. With a mixture of Jim Henson style Wild things made to look even more real with CGI eyes and mouths and a childlike soundtrack Co-Scored by festival queen and front woman for the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O, This movie feels and sounds even better then i had imagined. In short, See this film. There are few adaptations of things you love from your childhood that will get it as right as this… R.I.P Megatron.
Dont call it a comeback
Over the past few months there have been countless videos popping up across my beloved interweb featuring the newest flag waver for unity Dame Dash. Dash seems to repeatedly feel the need to enforce the fact that he has far from fallen off and continues to be a successful business man. If this BlakRoc project is anything to go by, the man could be onto something. Corny name aside, dude really has a stellar line up of artists including the resurrected and re-named Nikki Wray who was one of the many victims of the Rocafella break up (pour out some liquor for Rell and Allen Anthony) It would seem as though Mr.Dash is really going in.
