Ad Of The Day : Be Stupid

January 19, 2010 by Antronella

The new Diesel campaign created by extended tribe family Anomaly, has pit a campaign which goes against the grain of being ’smart’ and pushes for being ’stupid’… stupid-like, stupid influenced and anything to do with the word ’stupid’. As with ’stupid’, you have more fun and ‘more’ can happen. Question is, does the campaign really make you want to get stupid? Does it make you buy into the brand, and ultimately, as intended, does it make you want to purchase the goods to feel a part of the whole ’stupid’ movement?

And if the print ads weren’t enough to influence you to join the ’stupid side’, possibly the viral?

Thoughts?

Any bloggers, writers, artists, musicians out there that want to be part of the campaign and get your craft/ideas some exposure? Over the next few weeks Anamoly are shooting 100 creatives in a DIESEL music video that doubles up as a lookbook online. For more info: http://recruit.diesel.com/

@ABOOK Yes they got in contact with my manager a few weeks ago. Myself and Kwes are unsigned, so it works for us.

You’d be stoopid to buy Diesel, so I guess they’re on track with this one.

Love the viral…and it’s true, stupid is a lot more fun.

The ad’s are defiantly a talking point, and suggests Diesel are up for a laugh – I like how Anomaly have challenged a sterotype of stupid…everyone wants be smart, but now its good to be stupid?

Definatly makes life more interesting when you are naive.
