Hudson’s musical development is certainly evident in songs played earlier in the evening from ‘Straight No Chaser’, an album he describes as being simply ‘bigger’ than his band’s previous effort: ‘I think the songs are bigger. They’ve got me singing higher, louder. The beats are wide and big. The bass is even lower.’
