“Spanish Sahara”, by 5-piece band Foals, is about one particular past experience of lead singer Yannis Philippakis – a childhood memory of stumbling upon a dead dog in a river. The jagged broken sheets of ice floating in the dark ocean captures the feeling of the song quite well.
