“Spanish Sahara”, by 5-piece band Foals, is about one particular past experience of lead singer Yannis Philippakis – a childhood memory of stumbling upon a dead dog in a river. The jagged broken sheets of ice floating in the dark ocean captures the feeling of the song quite well.

This looks like its the first official single off’s Kweli’s and Hi-Teks long awaited and much anticipated new album Revoulutions Per Minute due out next month.
In short this beat gave me heart palpitations. Black hoody rap with bit of back-pack, sprinkled with a dash of consciousness.
10 years since Train of Thought but clearly the chemistry is still alive and well.
This sh*t is hard.
After a brief hiatus, Lil Derek (one of the UK’s most gifted wordsmiths may I add) is back with The Delivery Mixtape – which he released last week.
Expect appearances from Akon, Mr Hudson, Styles P and Giggs – not a bad line up for a free mixtape giveaway.

In a week or so Weezy’s going to the slammer.
In his last days of freedom Mr Young Money has been in the stu lacing 16s while also shooting music videos – apparently the number stands at about 9 now.
This latest visual treat is for Drop The World – which is without question the best track off Dwayne’s experimental rock album Rebirth.
The vid was directed by Mr Chris Robinson and features a whole lotta green screen.
Its pretty much become a given for Em to body rappers on their own tracks – business as usual here me thinks.

I saw Likle P from Nu Brand last night and we chatted for a while about what they are up to and their thoughts on the game. But the highlight was him pulling his phone out to play me their latest tune – Runway.
It’s a big step from the days of Gash by the Hour musically and feels very very current but are you feeling it?
